WALMART:WALMART: We were honored to have Walmart Manager and Regional Director of Human Resources at our meeting. Mr. David White is the new Manager and shares many of our concerns. There have been some changes and the remodeling has begun. The work happens at night, so different areas will be moved around on a regular basis. Should be finished by mid-July.
SPHINX DEVELOPMENT AT LAWNVIEW: Sphinx Development had proposed rezoning and a Senior Community. Buckner Terrace Homeowners met on Tuesday, April 27th at Edna Rowe Elementary School. The Homeowners were very impressed with the conceptual drawings from JHP. After much discussion, the Homeowners had three possible variations to vote on. Each person was asked to vote only once. The voters, according to our By-Laws, must be members of Buckner Terrace Homeowners. The options were:
1. Oppose MF 2 zoning and ask for the zoning to be a PD. Put together PD zoning and present to Homeowners. 15 voted in favor.
2. Approve MF 2 zoning as proposed. 4 voted in favor.
3. Oppose the proposal in any fashion. 9 voted in favor. Conclusions: 19 liked the proposal 19 liked the proposal, but there is
Conclusions: but there is concern about MF 2 zoning. The concern is should this property not be developed by Mr. Oji, we certainly do not want this property as an empty MF 2 zoned area.
OUTCOME OF RECYCLING ROUNDUP: We had a great turnout at the Recycling Roundup on Saturday, April 24th! We were kept extremely busy and by some estimates, over 600 vehicles brought items to be recycled. The line sometimes went out to Jim Miller! We came in Second Place with 48,283 pounds of Recycling Collected. Thanks to the many neighbors and groups that helped with unloading! It was a fun day and please plan on next Spring for our next event.
Many thanks to Furrs and McDonalds for refreshments. We appreciate our business partners.
Keep Waving at our Neighbors!
