FIRESTATION 32 Our Fire Persons!
Diane Birdwell expressed her concern about the minimal supplies available at our local Fire Station located at 7007 Benning Avenue This station opened on April 1, 1951 and is scheduled to receive some updates next year. However, the firemen have some needs. So far, BTHA neighbors have given fans, a barbeque grill and outdoor chairs. The firemen have put these to good use. Next on the need list is: 12 large bath towels, absorbent ones, better sheets-¬200 thread count, size for single bed but tall, not fancy ones, and maybe --I think for health reasons--¬mattress covers. Oh, and a crock pot or two, new ones.... If you would like to help, you can contact Diane at Diane at dianebirdwell_yahoo com dianebirdwell_yahoo.com. Kudos to Diane
Kudos to Diane for seeing a need and stepping up to help!
Reporting Street Light Outages
Mike Koonce
Call Oncor at 888-313-6862 or go to www.oncorstreetlight.com. There a great interactive map showing all lights in our area with the pole numbers. Use this web site to get pole numbers because one pole I reported had the wrong pole number on it. You can also use this web site to report streetlight problems. Go to www.oncorstreetlight.com directly or it can be reached from Oncor's main web site as follows: Go to www.oncor.com and from the "Community" tab select "Report Street Light Outages" and then click on "Report streetlight outages online".
Neighborhood Safety
Jim Mosteller
Have you made a 'neighbor's map' of those folks all around your house [front, back, each side] with identifying information? A good way to get to know your neighbors and be a facilitator in watching out for each other and it can help to prevent crime in the neighborhood. The more you go beyond just adjacent houses in having this type of information, the more secure and safe you and your family will be.
Are you still waving at our neighbors? I am!
